#TheChris100 2020: #80-71

This list is the only thing keeping me from going insane after some brutal retail shifts so I really do thank you all for going on this journey with me. Let's list ten more wrestlers.

80. Chessman (7 ballots, 131 points, average rank 32.28571)
High Vote: Michael Stocks (13)

w/ Averno & Super Fly vs. El Hijo del Vikingo, Monsther Clown & Pagano (AAA, 3/14)
vs. Myzteziz Jr. (AAA, 4/25)
vs. Pagano (AAA, 5/2)
vs. Psycho Clown vs. Texano Jr. (AAA, 11/1)
vs. Chessman (AAA, 12/12)

"Everything I said about Pagano in the previous post basically applies to Chessman as well, since their 2020 campaigns were so closely linked together. The only difference is that Chessman is even more of a sicko for taking the bumps he took in those matches because he has a full ten years of wear on Pagano. One of the sickest freaks in all of Mexico." ~Chris Gibbons.

79. Rey Fenix (5 ballots, 132 points, average rank 24.6)
High Vote: TH (10)

w/ Pentagon Jr. & Psycho Clown vs. La Bestia del Ring, LA Park & Rush (AAA, 1/25)
w/ Pentagon Jr. vs. Hangman Page & Kenny Omega (AEW, 2/19)
w/ Laredo Kid & Pentagon Jr. vs. La Bestia del Ring, LA Park & Rush (AAA, 2/8)
vs. Pentagon Jr. (AEW, 10/21)
w/ Pentagon Jr. vs. Rey Escorpion & Texano Jr. vs. Myzteziz Jr. & Octagon Jr. (AAA, 12/12)

78. Alex Colon (4 ballots, 133 points, average rank 18.75)
High Vote: Chris Gibbons (6)

vs. Takashi Sasaki (GCW, 2/15)
vs. Eric Ryan (ICW NHB, 6/27)
vs. Zachary Wentz (GCW, 7/26)
vs. Lowlife Louie Ramos (H20, 10/31)
vs. Aeroboy  (GCW, 11/8)

"Outside of probably Nick Gage, there's not another wrestler on the American deathmatch scene taht's asked to do as much heavy lifting as Alex Colon. He's the gatekeeper of the scene. Need somebody to welcome the rising deathmatch guy to the big leagues? Alex Colon will put them over big. Have somebody who normally works straight matches trying a deathmatch for the first time? Colon will make them look like they've been doing it for years. Got an old stalwart retiring? Gotta make sure he gets one more Alex Colon match. Need a veteran deathmatch worker to make it to the semifinals of your hardcore tournament to give it credibility? Colon will pull double or triple duty. Gage and Eric Ryan are the only two other guys on the scene who seem willing to do all of those things, and do them at such a consistently high level. I don't think there was a deathmatch wrestler in America that Colon didn't work in 2020." ~Chris Gibbons

77. Minoru Fujita (5 ballots, 133 points, average rank 26)
High Vote: Dakota (4)

vs. Ryuji Ito (BJW, 8/29)
w/ Rina Yamashita vs. Mammoth Sasaki & VIolento Jack (FREEDOMS, 8/31)
vs. Rina Yamashita (FREEDOMS, 11/10)
vs. Isami Kodaka (BJW, 11/17)
vs. Yuko Miyamoto (BJW, 12/20)

76. Orange Cassidy (5 ballots, 134 points, average rank 24.2)
High Vote: TH (11)

vs. PAC (AEW, 2/29)
vs. Chris Jericho (AEW, 7/2)
vs. Chris Jericho (AEW, 9/5)
vs. Cody (AEW, 10/14)
vs. John Silver (AEW, 11/7)

"There are very few comedy wrestlers, especially on American soil, that manage to consistently have entertaining matches without the gimmick getting old. That Orange Cassidy can put on fun comedy matches week to week this far into his career is truly a testament to his skill." ~Chris Gibbons

75. Kenoh (4 ballots, 135 points, average rank 18.25)
High Vote: BlodN (6)

vs. NOSAWA Rongai (NOAH, 5/3)
vs. Hao (NOAH, 7/24)
vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima (NOAH, 9/18)
vs. Kaito Kiyomiya (NOAH, 11/22)
vs. Kazushi Sakuraba (NOAH, 12/6)

74. Kyle O’Reilly (5 ballots, 135 points, average rank 24.8)
High Vote: Andy (6)

w/ Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong vs. Alexander Wolfe, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel & WALTER (WWE, 1/25)
w/ Bobby Fish vs. Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne (WWE, 2/16)
vs. Finn Balor (WWE, 10/4)
vs. Pete Dunne (WWE, 11/25)
w/ Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong vs. Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan, Pat McAfee & Pete Dunne (WWE, 12/6)

"Kyle O'Reilly missed months during Covid and still pretty easily took the top spot on this list for the Undisputed Era. Cole, Fish and Strong aren't slouches at all; that's just how good Kyle O'Reilly is. Outside of maybe Oney Lorcan, I can't think of many workers in NXT that have been more reliable in their role. KOR is money as both a tag and a singles guy, and things like Finn Balor's transition to a more technical style wouldn't work nearly as well if not for having an opponent like O'Reilly." ~Chris Gibbons

73. Tetsuya Endo (6 ballots, 135 points, average rank 28.5)
High Vote: Corey (11)

vs. Kazusada Higuchi (DDT, 5/2)
vs. Yuki Ueno (DDT, 7/23)
vs. T-Hawk (DDT, 8/23)
vs. Daisuke Sasaki (DDT, 11/3)
vs. Jun Akiyama (DDT, 11/22)

72. Takumi Iroha (5 ballots, 137 points, average rank 26.8)
High Vote: MIkeyCC (2)

vs. Mayu Iwatani (Stardom, 2/8)
w/ Nagisa Nozaki vs. Miyuki Takase & Syuri (WAVE, 3/1)
w/ Chigusa Nagayo vs. Masha Slamovich & Mei Hoshizuki (Marvelous, 3/20)
w/ Yuki Miyazaki vs. Mio Momono & Yumi Ohka (WAVE, 9/6)
vs. Yuna Manase (DDT, 10/6)

71. Avisman (3 ballots, 138 points, average rank 14.66667) – HIGHEST RANKED THREE BALLOT WRESTLER
High Vote: Jon (1)

w/ Black Dragon vs. Death Metal & Fulgor I (IWRG, 1/19)
vs. Eragon (IWRG, 6/14)
w/ Fulgor I & Heddi Karaoui vs. Alas de Oro, Alas de Plata & Eragon (IWRG, 9/13)
vs. Aeroboy (Lucha Memes, 11/1)
vs. Energia (Lucha Memes, 11/29)

"The biggest renaissance of 2020. Almost every year, Avisman teases to come back to his peak IWRG form but never truly delivers, until 2020 of course. He got to do a number of really, really good matches around matwork, carrying worse/unknown guys on the mat than him to great stuff and appeared on some very fun tags and trios. With maybe one more standout match, and a big more brawling to remember those 2008-2011 IWRG days, he'd have been even higher on the list. Just a really fun year all around where he was the clear best wrestler in very good matches." ~Damian
