Announcing #TheChris100 for 2022!

 

I was hoping to get this post out earlier, but December really crept up on me. That being said, The Chris 100 is still happening for the calendar year 2022! In case you forgot 2021's results, here's the top 10:

Danielson joined 2020's winner Go Shiozaki. Will Danielson keep his crown in 2022? Will Kenny and Cody's long absences due to injury keep them from the top 10? Will this be the year Kaito or Darby come out on top after two strong showings in the past two polls? Many questions!
 
2021's list was a huge success. My initial goal was 35 ballots, and I ended up getting 40. I'm hoping the list grows even more this year, but I know some past voters are watching less wrestling and some voters have left Twitter (which is basically all of this poll's advertising). Still, a repeat of last year's turnout would be great. Even more voters would be even better!

Last year, I introduced 100-name ballots along with 50-name ballots. That allowed for even more names to be in contention for the prize. I'm hoping if there's any change, it's an increase in 100-name ballots. I appreciate anything submitted, but I think more big ballots increases interest in the honorable mentions. Anyway, same rules as last year. Here they are:

The Full Rules:

  1. Vote for your top 50 or 100 wrestlers based purely on their 2021 resumes
  2. Any ballot that falls between 50 and 100 (e.g. a 72-name ballot) will be cut off and treated as a 50-name ballot.
  3. This poll is for in-ring, bell-to-bell work only. Promo ability, drawing power, etc. should not be considered.
  4. Tape date only. Any work taped in 2020 but aired in 2021 should not be considered. Work taped at the end of 2021 that airs in 2022 should be considered for this year's list, not next year's.
  5. Ballots will be weighted by the method used in the past for the WDKW
    1. 50-person ballots: 1st place-75 points, 2nd-65 points, 3rd-60 points, etc.
    2. 100-person ballots: 1st place-125 points, 2nd-115 points, 3rd-110 points, etc.
  6. I reserve the right to toss any ballots that may be jokes/trolling/different ballots sent by one person
  7. Ballots will be accepted from midnight EST on Dec. 25 until midnight EST on March 1.
  8. Ballots can be sent to me via Twitter DM or Google Form
The link to the ballot submission Google Form will be listed here when the submission period begins. It will also be my pinned Tweet on my Twitter (@fighthaskins) throughout the season.
 
Get working on your drafts of your lists! Submission period starts Christmas Day.

#TheChris100 2022: #100-81

We've made it to the main event. The Chris 100 is finally here. After counting down over 600 honorable mentions, we are at the tip-top, best-of-the-best workers in wrestling from 2022 as chosen by our esteem panel. This year featured probably the tightest races I've seen since I started running this list. Sure, there were definitely tiers of workers that established themselves as I collected ballots, but it seemed like every submission I received featured some crazy swings in placement, especially in the bottom half. There are workers in the 60s of this list who I wasn't even sure would make it at all until the last few days of voting. Apologies for any formatting errors with this list. I am shocked every year how Blogger's "composer view" seems to actively hate anyone who is trying to compose something. I really should have looked into moving to WordPress this year.
